Two 'AL' men arrested

Police arrested two Awami League activists after they allegedly beat a journalist at Gollapara Bazar in Tanore upazila here yesterday, said the victim's family. The injured Tipu Sultan, upazila correspondent of Dainik Kaler Kantho and Dainik Sun Shine, was admitted to Tanore Hospital where he was given seven stitches to his head, hospital sources. The arrested Nironjon Chandra Ghosh and his son Monohori Chandra Ghosh were constructing a concrete shop on a three decimal land when Tipu arrived and told them not to as it was his ancestral land. The men then beat him, said Tipu's family. Rajshahi Superintendent of Police SM Rokon Uddin said they recorded a case after Tipu's brother Shamsuzzoha gave a written complaint against the two. Local journalists in Tanore and Metropolitan Press Club in Rajshahi protested the incident.
