ACC sues cop for possessing wealth 'illegally'
The Anti-Corruption Commission here yesterday filed a case against a traffic inspector of Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) on charges of possessing money from unknown source of income and giving false information in wealth statement.
The case account said the inspector did not give appropriate wealth statement about Tk 1.72 crore and hid Tk 92.2 lakh by depositing it in his wife's bank account.
“We found no real source of his Tk 1,72,13,000, and he helped his wife achieve ownership of his wealth”, said ACC Deputy Assistant Director Saifullah Mohammad Emon who sued Abdur Rab with Double Mooring Police Station.
ACC Deputy Director Ikbal Hossain said, “Hiding the total sum of his wealth, giving false information in wealth statement, and helping his wife achieve ownership of his wealth are the charges brought against Abdur Rab”.
