Valuables worth Tk 8 lakh looted

Burglars looted gold ornaments, cash and valuables worth around Tk 8 lakh from a rented house of a media person in the city's Padma residential area on Tuesday night. Police said the burglars entered into the house after cutting the window-grill around 8:00pm and they took away 10 tola of gold ornaments, cash Tk 13,000 and other valuables. The house owner Mir Muhammad Hasan Abdullah, a communication specialist of LGED and his wife Sabiha Shobnom, an official of Mass Line Media Center, were not in the house during the burglary. A general diary was filed with Boalia Police Station in this connection.
