Debate contest begins at JU

A three-day long inter-club debate competition with the slogan “Juktir Aloke Muktir Gane, Sotter Misil Prane Prane” began at Jahangirnagar University (JU) yesterday. Debating Society of Economics (DSE) of the university organsied the contest. Mohammad Amjad Hossain, associate professor of Economics department, inaugurated the competition as the chief guest leading a rally that began in front of Social Science faculty and paraded the campus, says a press release. A total of 40 debating club comprising of public and private universities will participate in the competition. The final round of the competition will be held on Saturday. Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Sharif Enamul Kabir will be present as the chief guest and distribute prizes among the winners of the final round of the debate competition.
