Samarita Hospital doc found dead in Dhanmondi Lake

Police recovered the body of a physician floating in the city's Dhanmondi Lake yesterday morning, but could not ascertain the cause of the victim's death. The deceased, Sajib Al Islam, 30, was son of Shafiqul Islam of East Rajabazar. Sajib worked as a medical officer at Samarita Hospital, says his elder brother, Razib Al Islam. Police said the victim went missing Friday morning. Shimul Kumar, assistant sub-inspector of Dhanmondi Police Station, said they recovered the body around 8:00am and sent it to Dhaka Medical College morgue for autopsy. The body bore no injury marks, according to the morgue sources. Razib said his brother resided at a rented house at Road-26 of the area with his wife Faria Mim and claimed he was unhappy with his conjugal life and the couple used to quarrel at times over family issues. Razib said he talked to his brother last time Thursday night over phone. A friend of the victim said Sajib married Mim after his first wife died two years back.
