Chemical co, hospital fined
The Department of Environment (DoE) yesterday fined a company Tk 5 lakh for storing chemicals in a residential building in the city where 300 hearing-impaired students reside.
The DoE team led by its Director (Monitoring and Enforcement) Mohammad Munir Chowdhury also directed the authorities of Dysin Chem Limited at Bijoynagar to relocate the warehouse within a week, said a DoE press release.
Meanwhile, DoE fined Savar Modern Hospital Limited located at Simultala in Savar Tk 2 lakh for creating public suffering through dumping waste materials in the hospital's vicinity.
