100m suffer from dengue in world a year
Speakers say at int'l conference
Speakers at a conference yesterday said around 100 million people in the world suffered from dengue diseases every year and of them 30 thousand died.
They were speaking in an international conference jointly organised by Hospi Lab Essentials and Standard Diagnostics Inc, Korea at a hotel in the port city.
Prof Tareak-al-Nasir, head of pathology of Lab Aid Hospitals in Dhaka, was present as the chief guest while Golam Baki Masud, managing director of Hospi Lab Essentials, Dr Anjuman Ara Islam, Dr AKM Shahabuddin, Ryn Kin and Rozzer John spoke at the conference.
Prof Tareak presented a research paper on dengue fever at the programme.
He said now it is possible to detect whether a patient is suffering from dengue or not from the first day of his fever by using Immuno Chromatography method.
He said among the patients of dengue in the world fifty thousands are suffering from dengue heammorogic.
