Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will hold a press conference today about the outcome of her visit to the US. Sitting at her official residence Gono Bhaban at 12:00noon, she might also speak about the BNP-led opposition party's anti-government movements, a Prime Minister's Office official said last night. Hasina, also the president of ruling Awami League, arrived home on Thursday night after wrapping up her 11-day official visit in New York beginning September 17. She addressed the United Nations General Assembly on September 24 and unveiled her six-point model of peace for championing democracy and people's empowerment. Hasina attended a reception hosted by the US First Lady Michele Obama on September 22 and held bilateral talks with United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon the next day. She was awarded the South-South Award on September 20 for her outstanding contributions to improving the lives of women and children by using Information and Communications Technology.
