RU student 'commits suicide'
A female student of Rajshahi University (RU) allegedly committed suicide in her room on Friday night.
The deceased is Jannatul Ferdous, a first-year student of Management department of RU, hailed from Jhikargacha of Jessore.
Police said around 10:00pm, Jannatul hanged herself from the ceiling fan in her room at a residential ladies hostel 'Nila Chattrinibas' in Binodpur Bazar area, adjacent to RU campus .
One of her friends, who resided at the hostel, informed the hostel authorities and police of the matter.
Jannatul was taken to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital where doctors declared her dead.
Police also recovered a handwritten letter from her room.
