Road crash kills two
Two daylabourers were killed and five others injured in a road accident on the Benapole-Jessore highway early yesterday morning.
The deceased were identified as Yusuf Alam, 35, son of Billal Hossain and Iqbal Dhali, 37, son of Iman Dhali of village Haria Deara at Jhikargacha upazila in Jessore.
Enamul Haque, incharge-in-charge of Jhikargacha police station, said the accident took place at Beniali in the upazila when a Dhaka-bound truck from Benapole hits a three-wheeler and skidded off the road, leaving the two dead on the spot.
The injured were given first aid at different local clinics in the area.
The passengers were all daylabourers who were going to Jhikargacha for work.
