Lawyer found murdered in his Dhanmondi flat

The body of a senior advocate of the Supreme Court, who was killed on September 30, was recovered from his flat at city's Dhanmondi yesterday evening. Nazir Hayat Khan, 60, used to live alone at a flat of six story building at road No 9/A of Dhanmondi residential area. Dhanmondi police and the relatives of the dead broke open the door of the flat and recovered the body at 7:00pm. Police found the body lying on the floor and his both hands were tied with rope to the backside. Police also found that the mouth and neck of the body was also tied with rope. Police said the body was decomposed and they suspect that he was killed on September 30. Police is yet to confirm whether any furniture or valuables were missing from the flat. Advocate Ahmed's wife Sanjida Khanam informed police yesterday afternoon that she lost any contact with her husband since September 30, said Moniruzzaman, officer-in-charge (OC) of Dhanmondi Police Station. She lives with relatives at Lalbagh as they were not on good terms but had contacts over phone and their two children live abroad, the OC added.
