Unidentified woman killed SC lawyer
Suspect police
Police suspected that Advocate Nazir Hayat Khan, 60, a senior lawyer of the Supreme Court, was killed by a young woman but they were not sure about the motive.
Police did not disclose her name for the sake of investigation.
Police recovered the decomposed body of advocate Khan from his flat at Dhanmondi on Monday evening.
A relative of Khan preferring anonymity told this correspondent that Khan sold a large size of plot at Dhanmondi and got a huge amount of money that was missing along with the valuables.
When this correspondent visited the building, where the lawyer lived alone, two security guards said a woman aged around 28 years, who registered her name as Nipa, came to visit Khan on September 30 around 1:55pm.
The security guards said many young women used to come to the flat but the one who identified as Nipa was not seen before.
She left the flat in the evening and the flat was locked from outside, they added.
Kamrul Islam, investigation officer (IO), told the Daily Star that they are focusing on two factors - advocate Khan's intimacy with young women and any other conflict of interest.
Dhaka Medical College morgue sources said Khan was strangulated to death.
