Death anniversary
The first death anniversary of Barrister Syed Mohammad Ali, MBE, will be observed today.
Ali, noted for his critical editorials in defence of Bengali rights in The People during the non-violent non-cooperation movement called by Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in March 1971, eventually settled in the UK, where he was elected a local councilor. He died in London.
His family, friends and well-wishers are requested to pray for salvation of the departed soul.
