Two groups of workers clashed over establishing supremacy at Sadarghat Launch Terminal in the city Wednesday night, leaving at least 10 of one side hurt. The injured men were treated in Mitford Hospital. They work for Iqbal Hossain, the current lessee of the terminal for loading and unloading of goods. Kotwali police said they arrested 20 workers from both sides in connection with the one-hour long clash that erupted following rival group's attack on the employees of Iqbal. Nazrul Islam, an injured, said workers loyal to former lessee Alamgir Hossain swooped on 25 of them as they were watching television at the office of Workers Cooperative Samity. He said they retaliated the attack along with other workers. Alamgir led several attacks on them since Iqbal won the lease of the terminal this July, he added. Police said they have produced five detainees before a court and released the others.
