Restore caretaker to avoid another 1/11: Rafiqul
BNP Standing Committee member Barrister Rafiqul Islam Miah yesterday urged the government to restore the caretaker government system to avoid another one-eleven like situation.
He was speaking at a discussion organised by Agriculturalists' Forum of Bangladesh at Jatiya Press Club in the city.
To protect the country from one-eleven, immediately amend the bill that the government has passed to remove the caretaker system, said Rafiqul Islam.
The BNP leader alleged that the government has reformed the Election Commission through its party men.
He urged the government to scrap the bill that is already passed to abolish the caretaker government system and arrange the next parliamentary polls under the system.
