20 shops gutted in Chandpur
At least 20 shops were gutted in a devastating fire which broke out at Sujatpur Bazar in Matlab North upazila on Wednesday night.
However, no casualty was reported.
The loss would go up to Tk 60 lakh, said affected shop owners.
The fire originated from electric short-circuit at a shop at 7:00pm.
Shop owners with the help of local people tried for three and a half hours
to put out the flame as no fire fighting unit is located near the union.
