3 minor boys drown
Police recovered the bodies of two minor boys from the Turag river, who went missing on Thursday night, at Tongi on the outskirt of the city yesterday morning.
The deceased were Tuhin, 8, son of Abu Hanifa and Shaheen Sheikh, 9, son of Mohammad Joy. Both were residents of Dulukhan slum in Arichpur area of Tongi.
Police said both the boys were missing since Thursday evening after they went to see immersion of the Durga in the river.
Pedestrians informed them after they found the bodies were floating along the shore of the river, police added.
Meanwhile, our Pabna correspondent says: A minor boy drowned in a pond when he slipped into the pond while he was playing on the bank of the pond at Bamongram village of Chatmohor upazila on Thursday night.
Locals recovered the body of Sagor, 5, son of Sajedur Rahman, of the village.
He went missing since the afternoon, Sagor's family members said.
