Housewife 'kills herself'
A housewife allegedly committed suicide at her husband's resident at Kadomtoli of the city yesterday.
The deceased was Tarana Islam Dristy, 19, wife of Jitu Miah of Donia of the area.
Jitu's family members claimed Dristy committed suicide by hanging herself with scarf from the ceiling fan of a room. But Dristy's family members alleged that she was killed.
Police detained Jitu for interrogation.
Victim's father Tajul Islam said he married off her daughter two and a half months back with their next-door neighbour Jitu.
Jitu's brother came to their house around 6:00am and informed that their daughter suddenly fell sick.
