JU admission test delayed
The fourth shift admission test under Ka unit at Jahangirnagar University got delayed by one and a half hours yesterday because of question paper chaos.
The authorities said some question papers prepared for the fourth shift examination were mistakenly distributed among the examinees of the third shift. They then withdrew the fourth shift question papers and continued the third shift examination. The fourth shift examination started after the alternative set of question papers preserved for the shift arrived printed.
According to schedule, the fourth shift examination was to start at 2:30pm. But it began at 4:00pm due to delay over printing. Some 6,200 aspirants appeared in the shift.
Prof Nurul Alam, dean, Faculty of Mathematics and Physical Sciences (Ka unit), said the admission aspirants would not face any trouble for the unwanted accident.
Ka unit admission tests for the academic session 2011-12 were held in four shifts between 9:30am and 5:05pm yesterday. About 26,020 students competed for 453 seats in the unit.
