'Save Muktijoddha Bhaban'

Freedom fighters staged a protest rally in front of Darul Fazal Market at Amtali in the port city yesterday demanding immediate steps to protect Muktijoddha Bhaban, freedom fighters' building. They sought the prime minister's interference to protect the building from misappropriating by an influential quarter. They said the building is a property of the freedom fighters and it is used as district and city command office of the freedom fighters after the War of Liberation. Abul Mansur, vice-chairman of Muktijoddha Central Command Council, spoke at the rally as the chief guest with Md Sahabuddin in the chair. M Kafil Uddin, former lawmaker and president of Sector Commanders' Forum Chittagong metropolitan unit, and Rekha Alam Chowdhury, women ward councillor, addressed the rally.
