RU vet students on strike
Students of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science department at Rajshahi University boycotted class indefinitely from yesterday, protesting the operation of Animal Husbandry Science department at Patuakhali Science and Technology University (PSTU).
The students alleged that the PSTU authorities recently launched the department when Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science department is already in existence at the same university. They said it would intensify the ever-present crisis in their job market.
They also said the University Grand Commission (UGC) in a letter canceled the PSTU's decision of launching Animal Husbandry Science department.
The students urged the government and the UGC authorities to take steps to stop functioning of the Animal Husbandry Science department at PSTU and vowed to boycott all classes and examinations until their demand is met.
