3 die in road accidents
Three people were killed in two road accidents in the district on Thursday evening and yesterday.
Police said around 11:30am yesterday a shallow-run three-wheeler collided head on with a battery-run three-wheeler at Dinajpur Govt College intersection, leaving three persons injured.
Abdul Mannan, 30, the driver of the battery-run auto rickshaw of Gopalganj village in Sadar upazila, died on the way to Dinajpur Medical College Hospital
Following the accident, the villagers blocked Dinajpur-Dhaka highway for one and half an hour till 2:00pm.
In another accident, two motorcyclists were killed instantly when their vehicle was rammed by a truck on Barapukuria-Maddyapara highway at Barapukuria in Parbatpur upazila on Thursday.
The victims are Dipu Rahman, 38, son late Shajibar Rahman and Jowardar Mia, 30, son of Phul Mia of Rangpur town.
