RU student held after clash
Police detained a student of Rajshahi University (RU) Friday evening following clashes between two factions of Bangladesh Chhatra League.
Witnesses said a group of students meeting under the banner of Syedpur Thana Samiti were verbally abused by a group led by Palash, supporter of RU unit BCL President Ahmed Ali, who thought they were from the opposition around 7:30pm.
A clash erupted when the Samiti students protested.
Called by one of the students of the samiti , Takin, a supporter of RU unit BCL secretary Abu Hossain Bipu, went to the spot and was beaten up by the followers of Palash.
