Egg-carrying Hilsa seized
Bangladesh Coast Guard (East Zone) members seized 3,400 kilogrammes of Hilsa, mostly females carrying eggs, worth around Tk 10.2 lakh, from Kumira in Chittagong early yesterday.
Acting on a tip-off, the members from CG outpost in Mirsarai upazila conducted a drive at Kumira-Sandwip Ghat area around 3:00am and recovered the fish, which were later auctioned, says a coast guard press release.
