Staff Correspondent
High Court yesterday questioned the legality of the admission test of Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) held on September 30 for 2011-12 sessions. In response to a writ petition claiming anomalies in some questions of the test, the court issued a rule asking the government to explain in this regard in two weeks. The HC bench of Justice Farid Ahmed and Justice Sheikh Hassan Arif also directed the authorities to submit the Bangla and English versions of the original question papers before it within two weeks for their scrutiny. Md Golam Mostafa, guardian of one examinee, filed the writ petition yesterday claiming a group of examinees found anomalies in at least 15 questions of the Bangla and English versions. The Optical Mark Reader (OMR) machine could not properly read the right answers given in the English version for which a good number of brilliant students, answering in English, did not get admission, he said.
