Death anniversary
Today is the first death anniversary of Mirza Aziza Idris, veteran women's leader and one of the organisers of the Liberation War of 1971, says a press release. On the occasion, a milad mahfil will be held at her eldest son's house: Eastern Fortune Apartment, 12/a, Eskaton Garden, Dhaka after Asr prayers. Friends, relatives, colleagues, and well-wishers are requested to attend the programme to pray for the salvation of her departed soul. Aziza died last year aged 85. Born in Dinajpur in 1926, she was involved in progressive and non-communal politics and a presidium member of Gonotantry Party.
