Man trampled to death by elephants
A septuagenarian man was trampled to death by a herd of marauding wild elephants which attacked his house at Rangapahar village in Baghaichhari upazila on Thursday night.
The deceased was Amzad Fakir of the area.
Police said the villagers torched fire, lanterns and started beating drums to drive away the elephants immediately after the attack.
The elephants destroyed his house completely but his family members were able to escape unhurt, police added.
