BCL man injured in attack at CU
An activist of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) of Chittagong University (CU) unit was injured as rival faction activists attacked him on the campus yesterday.
Quoting the victim, Inspector Mizanur Rahman of the university police outpost said a group of six to eight BCL men including Soumen Das, Mehrab, Rakib and Minu beat up Shahidul Islam with iron rods and sticks near the Faculty of Arts and Humanities around 12:30pm.
Shahidul, a fourth year student of CU Mathematics department, received injuries to his hand and foot and is undergoing treatment at Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH), said Mizanur.
Contacted, CU Proctor Dr Mohammad Nasim Hasan said action will be taken against those involved in the incident.
