2 'robbers' die while fleeing
Two unidentified robber was killed as a truck carrying them collided head-on with another truck on Uttara-Ashulia Highway at the city's Turag early Thursday.
Turag police seized a colour television set, some tools used for cutting grills from their truck on the spot.
Police said while the robbers after committing robbery at Uttara was fleeing, the law enforcers chased their vehicle which collided with another at Jahan Filling Station around 5:30am. Police later found the body and another injured inside the truck.
The injured robber was admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where he died at 2:00am yesterday.
Uttara police said around 4:30am, eight to nine robbers at gunpoint looted 10 tolas of gold ornaments, Tk 30,000 in cash and the TV set from the house of one Liton at Uttara.
