Sust students clash over stalking: 11 injured
At least 11 students were injured during a clash over an incident of stalking between students of the English and Architecture departments of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (Sust) in Sylhet on Thursday.
Same day, the Sust proctor formed a probe body to investigate into the clashes on the campus.
Campus sources said some English Department students allegedly stalked some female students of the Architecture Department on December 5.
Over the matter, Architecture Department student Hasan along with fellow students of the department assaulted some English Department students on the campus around 1:00 pm on Thursday.
Among the injured, Shantanu received primary aid while Tanvir, Prince and Shamal are undergoing treatment at Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital.
Later same day, Shantanu along with his department's fellow students and several Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) activists of Abid-Hafiz faction vandalised classroom windows and 30-35 project models of the Architecture Department.
They also assaulted the department's students. The injured students, Hasan, Rasel, Riad, Arefin, Sayem, Rased and Ifti, received first aid from Sylhet Jalalbad Ragib Rabeya Medical College Hospital.
