JCD leader hacked by rivals at Sust
A joint convener of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology unit Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) was hacked and severely beaten over the hands and legs allegedly by the unit's convener and activists yesterday.
Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College and Hospital doctors said the left leg bone of the victim, Al-Mamun, was broken. Some bones on the right leg were fractured and there were lacerations on the hands and legs, they added.
A shopkeeper who witnessed the incident, requesting anonymity, said the unit's Convener SM Jahangir, joint conveners Jobayer, Mrittunjoy and Bayezid and around 16 JCD activists carried out the attack before Surma Hall around 2:00pm.
The victim was not in the physical condition to comment. On contact, Jahangir denied being involved but said the attack was presumably resulting from internal feuds.
