Ctg AL brings out victory procession
Thousands of Awami League (AL) activists brought out a victory procession in the port city yesterday with the slogan "Ensure punishment of war criminals of 1971."
Huge numbers of women activists were seen to take part at the procession that started from the Central Shaheed Minar at around 10:00am and paraded the main thoroughfares of the city, sources said.
Chittagong south district unit AL, Jubo League, Chhatra League and Mahila League from five upazilas of Chittagong south region organised the procession.
The President of Chittagong south district unit Akhtaruzzaman Chowdhury Babu along with General Secretary Moslem Uddin Ahmed, lawmaker Shamsul Hoque Chowdhury of Chittagong-11 constituency (Patiya upazila), and lawmaker Cheman Ara Tayeb led the procession.
Two giant elephants and couple of horse- drawn carriages were the special attraction of the procession along with patriotic music by band parties.
