Road crashes kill three

Three people were killed and three others injured in separate road accidents in Jessore and Pabna on Saturday and yesterday. Our Benapole correspondent reports: An old woman Amela Begum, wife of Tarapodo Das of Jessore sadar, was killed on the spot when a truck hit her on Jessore-Narail Highway at Satiantala Bazar under sadar upazila in Jessore on Saturday night. In another incident, a truck ran over Soburunnesa, 60, wife of Yousuf Ali of Monirampur upazila in Jessore while she was crossing the road at Rajganj Bazar of sadar upazila in Jessore yesterday morning. Our Pabna correspondent adds: A motorcyclist Ripu Sardar, 40, a businessman of Ishwardi, was killed on the spot and three others were injured in a head-on collision between two motorbikes on Pabna-Ishwardi Highway at Alhaj intersection in the district on Saturday night. Injured Abdur Rajjak, 38, Nasir Ahmed, 42, and Nayan Islam, of Pabna Sadar upazila, were undergoing treatment at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.
