Fire in chips factory in Ctg

Valuables worth about Tk 8 lakh were gutted in a fire at Meridian Chips factory in Kalurghat Industrial area of the port city on Monday night. Fire service sources said the fire originated from a gas burner on the ground floor of the two-storey factory and gutted raw materials, goods and different equipment. Two fire fighting units from Kalurghat fire station rushed to the spot and doused the blaze.
