Restore the provision of Caretaker Government
There are some people who, after waking up from sleep, become disoriented and do not know what they are saying or doing. We think that is happening in the government's case. After sleeping for three years it has, as if, woken suddenly and started doing the most outrageous things one after another.
The government decided to abolish the caretaker government system which was Awami League's own brainchild. It once made people's lives miserable to achieve their demand for caretaker system of government. Now they are against it sensing defeat in the next general election if held under a caretaker government. People have become restive again because of their unjust decision of abolishing the caretaker government. But people will not tolerate this; they have had enough of the Awami League's whimsical ways.
We have learned that the President is holding dialogues with the political parties to appoint a new CEC. But appointing a new CEC is not the answer. The government should reinstate the caretaker government system. Otherwise the political arena will remain volatile. We do not want to suffer anymore due to the insensitivity of our politicians. The government must understand that caretaker government is not only the demand of the BNP; it is the demand of the people as well. So, the government must restore the provision of Caretaker Government immediately.
