CPB threatens tougher movement

Different organisations yesterday staged demonstration in the city protesting fuel price hike. Leaders of Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) at a rally in front of Jatiya Press Club yesterday said the government decision of hiking fuel price would bring trouble to the country's economy and increase the sufferings of people. They also threatened to go for tougher movement against the government if the decision is not cancelled. Terming the government's decision of increasing fuel price as “irresponsible and autocratic,” Revolutionary Workers Party of Bangladesh at a meeting yesterday demanded cancellation of the decision immediately. Bangladesh Chhatra Federation yesterday brought out a procession and held a rally on Dhaka University campus protesting the government's decision. Citizens Rights Movement and Islamic Movement Bangladesh also protested the fuel price hike.
