Teenager 'commits' suicide
A teenage girl allegedly committed suicide in the city's Tejgaon area as her parents did not allow her to go out to celebrate new year eve with her friends.
The deceased, Tania Akhter Mila, 18, is the daughter of grocery shop owner Mozammel Haque residing at Tejkunipara in Tejgaon.
Around 9:00am yesterday, Mila hanged herself from a ceiling fan in the house using a scarf.
Tejgaon police recovered the body and sent it to Dhaka Medical College morgue for autopsy.
Mila's father said his daughter wanted to go out with her friends on the night of December 31, but he scolded her and did not allow her to go out.
