BCL man stabbed by rivals at RU
An activist of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) was beaten and stabbed by his rivals at Rajshahi University (RU) early yesterday over previous enmity.
The injured, identified as Khaled Hossain alias Nayan, a final year student of Management department and also a resident of Bangabandhu hall, was admitted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.
Witnesses said around 15 followers of RU unit BCL General Secretary Abu Hossain Bipu entered the room of Nayan at Bangabandhu hall at around 12:00am and started to beat him with iron rods.
At one stage, they stabbed him in his chest, thigh and legs.
The BCL men locked the room from outside leaving Nayan inside and left the place.
On information, RU Proctor Prof Chowdhury Muhammad Zakaria along with law enforcers rushed into the hall and rescued the victim.
Earlier, Nayan was a follower of Bipu, but recently he has quit Bipu's group following a dispute over some issues and that's why he was attacked, said Nayan.
No case was filed in this regard.
