Countrywide protest Jan 17
National Committee to Protect Oil, Gas, Mineral Resources, Power and Ports will hold rallies in front of all power offices across the country on January 17 including Power Development Board in the capital.
Prof Anu Muhammad, secretary general of the committee, announced the programme yesterday at a rally in front of the Jatiya Press Club protesting the police attack on the leaders and activists of the committee on December 29 during their march towards energy ministry.
The committee has been holding different programmes to realise seven-point demand including cancellation of rental power plant agreements and gas export deal with ConocoPhillips, and implementation of Phulbari agreement.
