SUST VC won't resign over remark of UGC boss
Vice Chancellor (VC) of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST), Sylhet Dr Saleh Uddin has changed his earlier decision to resign from his post over the remark made by UGC Chairman AK Azad Chowdhury on the campus.
Saleh Uddin told The Daily Star yesterday that he has changed the decision as his students, teachers and staff have requested him not to resign. "The UGC chairman also requested me over cell phone for not to resign," said the VC.
Considering a memorandum of Bangladesh Chhatra League at a reception programme on the campus on Sunday, the UGC chairman in his speech labelled the VC as a liar alleging that the SUST administration is involved in corruption.
SUST teachers, students and staff yesterday protested the remark.
