Man killed while resolving feud

A man died while trying to resolve a family feud in Harinakundo upazila of Jhenidah on Thursday. The dead was Jamat Ali, 55, son of late Hamed Ali, of the upazila's Harishpur village. Police said Thursday afternoon, Abul Barek and his brother Nazir Uddin locked into an altercation over dividing fish that they caught from a local water body. Later around 9:00pm, their brother-in-law Jamat reached their house in the village to settle the quarrel, he said. At one stage, Nazir tried to beat Abul with a stick. When trying to resist them from fighting, Jamat fell in the middle and was hit on the head, he added. Jamat succumbed to his head injury on the way to Harinakundo local health complex.
