Grand alliance's countrywide rallies today
Awami League-led grand alliance will hold mass rallies in all the district headquarters across the country today demanding immediate trial of war criminals and, as it said, to resist BNP-Jamaat's "move to protect the war criminals by creating anarchy in the country".
Before the rallies in the afternoon, the district unit grand alliance will bring out processions in the districts to drum up public support in favour of the war crimes trial. The alliance will chalk out such programmes in all the upazila headquarters on January 11.
Coordinator of the 14-party, Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury, also deputy leader of the House, has already written to AL district and upazila unit presidents and general secretaries to carry out the programmes in their respective areas, AL deputy office secretary Mrinal Kanti Das told The Daily Star.
