CU teacher sacked
Chittagong University authority yesterday sacked a teacher of applied physics, electronics and communication engineering department for remaining absent without permission since June 2006.
The decision to remove Assistant Prof Mohammad Ashad Kabir came at the university's syndicate meeting chaired by Vice-Chancellor Prof Md Anwarul Azim Arif.
One syndicate member, Dr Mohammad Kamrul Huda, said the authority issued several notices asking Ashad to join the department but there was no response.
