Son sued for beating mother
A Chittagong court issued arrest of warrant against a young man on charge of beating his mother in the port city yesterday.
Josna Ara Begum, 42, wife of late Safar Ali, hailing from Madhyam Salimpur of Sitakunda, filed the case with the court of Chittagong Metropolitan Magistrate Mahbubur Rahman against Nur Alam, 19.
The court issued arrest of warrant against Nur.
The plaintiff, who is now residing in the city's east Nasirabad area, in her case statement said her son is a drug addict and commits different crimes to collect money for taking drugs.
Nur demanded money from her on January 5 and beat her as she refused to give the money.
At one stage, he took away Tk 5000 from wardrobe and threatened to kill her for more money.
