Steps taken to cut poverty
Says minister
Minister for Fisheries and Livestock M Abdul Latif Biswas yesterday said the present government has taken various steps to remove poverty and change the lot of the marginal farmers in the country.
The minister said the present government has been working to stretch the manpower structure of the livestock department to union level.
"The government has already begun the process of recruiting more 8,000 manpower to mobilise the activities of the department", he said.
He was addressing as the chief guest an orientation programme-2011-2012 academic sessions under Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU) here.
