Envoy to Myanmar called back

The government has called back Bangladesh Ambassador in Myanmar Maj Gen Anup Kumar Chakma, an official notification issued by the Ministry of Public Administration said yesterday. Subsequently, the ambassador was put back into his former position in Bangladesh Army. No reason was mentioned in the notification behind his withdrawal. Maj Gen Anup Kumar Chakma was appointed Bangladesh Ambassador to Myanmar in 2009, according to foreign ministry sources.
