Road crashes kill 4

Four people, including a minor boy and a schoolboy, were killed in separate road accidents in Chapainawabganj, Manikganj and Brahmanbaria yesterday. Our Chapainawabganj correspondent reports: A minor boy was crashed under the wheels of a soil-laden trolley while he was crossing the road in Mondeler Bridge area of Raninagar upazila in Naogaon yesterday. The deceased is Mohammad Raju, 5, son of Anwar Hossain, of Khateswar-Paschimpara of Raninagar upazila in Naogaon. Meanwhile, a brick kiln labourer was killed when the driver of a truck lost his control over the steering and turned turtle at a brick kiln at Birampur village of Shibganj upazila in the district yesterday. The deceased was Abdur Rahim, 25, son of Zentu Rahman, of Birampur village of Shibganj upazila. UNB from Manikganj adds: A schoolboy was killed on the spot when a tractor hit him while he was returning home from Doulatpur Bazar on the Ghior-Doulatpur road at Chakmirpur in Doulatpur upazila yesterday morning. The deceased is Mohammad Sujan, 12, son of Pashan Sheikh, of Nilua village in the upazila. Our Brahmanbaria correspondent says: Tractor driver Tayeb Ali, 28, son of Gedu Mia of Shahbazpur village under Sarail upazila, was killed on the spot when the tractor fell into a ditch beside Dhaka-Sylhet highway after being hit by a bus at Baysamur in the upazila yesterday evening.
