World Marketing Summit
Opportunity to boost trade
The World Marketing Summit (WMS), scheduled to be hosted by Dhaka from March 1 to 3, could provide an opportunity for Indian and Bangladeshi entrepreneurs to enhance cross-border investment and bilateral trade.
“The summit will focus on areas like health, food security, education, environment and climate change,” Bangladesh High Commissioner to India Tariq A Karim told reporters here.
“I consider the WMS window a special privilege for corporate leaders from both countries to see how each could invest, trade and devise campaigns in a more lucrative market together,” he said.
WMS is being co-hosted by Prof Philip Kotler from the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University.
“The primary purpose of this annual summit is to showcase the strengths of marketing in approaching global problems.
“The summit will focus on issues outlined under Millennium Development Goals as laid down by the United Nations,” said WMS Managing Director Shariful Islam.
The first two summits will be held in Bangladesh and the following ones will be held in other countries.
“We are talking to interested parties to hold the summit in India in 2016. We are also considering starting an Indian version of WMS,” Islam added.
WMS will be participated by over 60 speakers discussing on a broad range of topics.
