Five alleged muggers arrested
Police arrested five alleged muggers carrying two knives and three machetes before Jemison Maternity Hospital in Anderkillah area of Chittagong city yesterday.
The arrestees, Md Yusuf, Miraj alias Siraj, Abdul Quder, Imam Hossain Imon and Mostafa, used CNG-run auto-rickshaws to mug people and make a quick getaway, said police.
Two cases were filed in this connection while a court sent the arrestees to jail.
Officer-in-Charge Abul Kalam Azad of Kotwali Police Station said four of the arrestees were earlier arrested for mugging but were released on bail.
