Pro-AL JU teachers slam protest
The pro-Awami League teachers of Jahangirnagar University (JU) yesterday criticised the agitating teachers' movement against the university administration, terming their movement politically motivated.
They made the remarks at a rally on the campus as their counter programme to defend the university vice-chancellor (VC) from the teachers' ongoing programme.
A group of JU teachers has been protesting the irregularities and nepotism of the VC and the administration and corruption in different sectors and failure to ensure the safety of the students and teachers after Zubair murder.
Prof Nurul Alam, Prof Abul Khair and Prof Asith Baron Paul, among others, spoke.
